Light-controllable time-domain digital coding metasurfaces

Programmable metasurfaces enable real-time control of electromagnetic waves in a digital coding manner, which are suitable for implementing time-domain with strong harmonic manipulation capabilities. However, the usually realized by adopting wired electrical method, is effective and robust, but there still some limitations. Here, we propose light-controllable metasurface consisting full-polarization dynamic high-speed photoelectric detection circuit, from microwave reflection spectra manipulated time-varying light signals periodic phase modulations. As demonstrated, illuminated two designed time-coding sequences. The measured results show that can well generate symmetrical harmonics white-noise-like spectra, respectively, under such cases reflected wave. proposed offers planar interface to tailor link microwaves lights time domain, could promote development hybrid related multiphysics applications.
